Use normal wearing position and keep your head still. Press Play once, listen to a full sweep, and watch the marker only as a reference. The audible movement matters more than the animation.
If spatial audio, crossfeed, virtual surround, or accessibility mono audio is enabled, turn it off for a baseline test and then repeat with your preferred processing enabled.
How to read unusual results
If the sound stays on one side, run the left/right test next. If the center sounds weak or hollow, compare with the phase test. If the image leans consistently, use the balance test and check fit or operating system balance.
